AI Innovator Award 2025 Highlights Young Talent Applying AI to Real-World Challenges

The AI Innovator Award 2025 recognized young innovators who are applying artificial intelligence to address real-world challenges across sustainability, industry, safety, and quality of life.

The competition concluded at AI Innovation Summit 2025, one of Thailand’s leading forums for AI dialogue and collaboration, where finalist teams presented their prototypes to the broader AI community, industry leaders, and innovation stakeholders. This year’s final round, titled “Demo the Prototype,” emphasized not only technical ability, but also practical relevance, feasibility, and the potential for real-world implementation.

The winning team, FINICS from The Prince Royal’s College, received the top recognition for its project, “Smart Navigation Map to the Critical Fire Area with Wind Shift Prediction using Deep Learning AI.” The project reflects how young innovators are beginning to use AI to support decision-making in high-impact areas such as emergency response, environmental monitoring, and public safety.

The AI Innovator Award was designed to give students a platform to move beyond ideas and develop working prototypes. Over several months, participants advanced from the preliminary round through a process of development, experimentation, feedback, and iteration. Teams from diverse backgrounds and disciplines explored how AI can be used responsibly and creatively to solve problems that matter to communities, industries, and society.

For CMKL University, Thailand’s No.1 AI & Innovation University, the competition reflects a broader commitment to nurturing future AI talent through hands-on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world application. Rather than viewing AI as a standalone technology, CMKL emphasizes AI as a foundation for innovation, problem-solving, and responsible impact.

Throughout the competition, finalists demonstrated the courage to test ideas, refine solutions, and translate technical knowledge into practical applications. Their work showed that meaningful innovation requires more than technical skill; it also depends on teamwork, persistence, problem understanding, and the ability to connect technology with human and social needs.
