CMKL Distinguished Lectures Series ep. 5

September 25, 2023, was an exciting day at CMKL University as we welcomed our special guests to our campus for our fifth distinguished lecture series. We were honored to host the brilliant Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat and Prof. Dr. William Sanders.

The event was attended by high school students, university students, external guests, and our own faculty members. The inspirational talk has attracted many attendees to participate.

Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat spoke about "AI Innovation and Global Impact: Technology Disruption in the Modern Age". Currently, AI is revolutionizing industries, reshaping economies, and impacting our daily lives in the fields of innovative economy, AI and robots, autonomous vehicles, space as the next frontier, education technology, medical intelligence, and smart agriculture. He emphasized the importance of "life" and the most common representation of life is no doubt health—"AI and Medical Intelligence".

Followed by "Research and Education in the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University" by Prof. Dr. William Sanders, dean of the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon. Showcasing innovative projects that are happening at CMU, for example, Decarb @ CMU: How People, Policy, Technology, and Systems Can Enable a Low Carbon Transition in Industry and SOFTBOTICS: Human-centered Soft Machines and Robots for Everyday Life.

A lively Q&A session followed both talks, where audience members had the opportunity to ask questions which was both informative and engaging, leaving our students and faculty members with much to ponder. Both talks address cutting-edge developments in technology and engineering, showcasing their transformative potential in today's rapidly evolving world. We're immensely grateful for this opportunity to learn from such exceptional experts. After the talk, both professors took a tour of our university, exploring our students' R&D projects, showcases, and facilities. Our students have received valuable feedback from both professors and are incorporating suggestions into their works.
