From AI Agents to STEM Innovation: CMKL Engages Young Innovators in Songkhla
CMKL University brought AI learning and STEM innovation together during a two-day engagement at PSU Wittayanusorn School in Songkhla,
combining the CMKL AI Roadshow with the International STEM Project Fair 2026 (iSTEM 2026) and STEM Project Fair 2026.
The program connected high school students with CMKL faculty and researchers through live AI demonstrations, career inspiration,
hands-on learning, and opportunities to present their own innovations.
Day 1: Learning and Building with AI
The CMKL AI Roadshow introduced students to how AI can become a practical tool for creativity, problem-solving, and future careers.
Justin Paulsen, Assistant Professor at CMKL University, led “Ideate and Create Your Future with AI,” demonstrating how Claude can be used to
build a game from an initial idea. The session encouraged students to move beyond using AI simply for answers and begin thinking about
how they can use it to create.
Supawit Chockchowwat, Assistant Professor at CMKL University and former Visiting Faculty Researcher at Google, shared AI fundamentals
and pathways into cloud computing, software engineering, and cybersecurity. Drawing from his own journey, he also reminded students
that building a career in technology may not be easy or straightforward, but ambitious goals are possible through persistence and continuous learning.
Apirujee Rujirek, Associate Director at CMKL University, connected these perspectives with educational opportunities
and future pathways in technology and innovation.
In the afternoon, Paksaran “Minnie” Kongkaew, CMKL Research Assistant Engineer, led the hands-on workshop “Turn AI Assistant into AI Agent.”
Students explored agentic AI and learned how AI agents can make decisions and complete multi-step tasks toward a goal.
Day 2: Celebrating Young STEM Innovators
CMKL’s engagement continued at the International STEM Project Fair 2026 (iSTEM 2026) – Grand Final Round, held under the theme
“Innovating Tomorrow, Empowering Society.”
This year, the event received 466 project submissions, providing junior and senior high school students with an international platform to present
their STEM research and innovations.
CMKL University co-hosted the event alongside PSU Wittayanusorn School, the Faculty of Education at Thaksin University,
and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Malaysia.
CMKL faculty members were also invited to join the official judging panel for iSTEM 2026 and the STEM Project Fair 2026, contributing their academic,
research, and industry perspectives to the evaluation of student projects and innovation prototypes.
“The two-day program gave young innovators opportunities on both sides of the learning journey: discovering what is possible with AI
and demonstrating what they can already create through STEM,” said Apirujee Rujirek, Associate Director at CMKL University.
“We hope students begin to see themselves not only as users of technology, but as future builders who can apply it to problems that matter.”
Together, the AI Roadshow and iSTEM 2026 reflected CMKL’s commitment to expanding practical AI learning and supporting the next generation
of technology talent. By bringing AI education directly to students while creating opportunities for young innovators to share their work,
CMKL continues to connect learning with building, experimentation, and real-world impact.
